We were quite impressed with how modern the domestic terminal is now. It has a Cathedral Dome featured ceiling that reflects beautifully into the shiny tiled floor below. All those miners flying backwards and forwards to their mine sites, for the Chinese Iron Ore exports. It was a beautiful day for our same day visit to Newman Visitors Centre. As I am planning a exhibition in October, I needed to see the location and the facilities. The sky was very clear and some wonderful patterns of landscape.
The gallery is ideal and will contain about 20 paintings of waterfalls, rock formations it will be called "Only the Best" featuring the Pilbara landscape. (God's champange, flowing through the million year rocks)
It was a wonderful facility, with a stained glass detail in the gabled ceiling. The gallery space was ideal for the paintings which will include images of the water falls, rock formations and gorges at Karajini National Park.
Sue loves making Mosaics and has some wonderful creations in her home. Sue is the secretary for Lynne Craigie, who is the President of the Newman Shire and is supporting the Exhibition.
After having afternoon tea with Bill's sister and family, we went for a drive to a nearby creek. Our schedule was to leave at 7pm on Virgin Blue.
After an some time exploring the river bed, and sorthing through some coloured pebbles it was time to head back to the Newman Air Terminal. The sun just glittered on the horizon, featuring one of those beautiful white tree against the blue sky.
